Electronic Equipment Insurance covers accidental, unforeseen and sudden physical loss or
damage to electronic equipment arising out of any cause or peril that is not excluded under
the Policy.
What is covered under Electronic Equipment Policy?
This insurance covers sudden, unforeseen and accidental loss or damage to equipment caused
by:
1. fire;
2. lightning and explosion;
3. electrical and mechanical breakdown;
4. flood and water damages;
5. extraneous impact and collision;
6. cyclone, storm and other atmospheric disturbances;
7. burglary and theft;
8. failure of air-conditioning equipment;
9. negligence, faulty operation, carelessness;
10. riot, strike and malicious damages; and
11. entry of foreign body, dirt.
Subject to exceptions as may be mentioned in the Policy.
What is Not Covered under Electronic Equipment Policy?
This insurance does not provide coverage for losses or damage arising from:
1. willful acts or gross negligence on the part of you or your representatives;
2. war or warlike operations, nuclear reaction, radiation or radioactive contamination;
3. wear and tear, faults or defects existing at the time of commencement of insurance which
ought to have been or were known to you;
4. faults or defect for which the supplier/manufacturer/maintenance contractor is responsible
either by law or under contract;
5. loss, destruction or damage directly occasioned by pressure, wave caused by aircraft and
other aerial devices traveling at sonic or supersonic speeds;
6. loss of or damage to the property covered under this Policy falling under the terms of the
Maintenance Agreement; and
7. Policy Excess – This is the first amount of any claim that you have to bear.
What extensions are afforded under Electronic Equipment Policy?
On payment of additional premium, the policy can be extended to cover the following risks:
1. express freight;
2. air freight; additional custom duty;
3. third party liability;
4. owners surrounding property;
5. external data media; and
6. increased cost of working.
